How Stress and Fear are Linked to Resilience?

Emotions combinations, Reptilian brain and Evolution

Stress is build up mental exhaustion. It can come from too much work, facing strong and negative emotions such as fear, anxiety and grief and not enough rest and recovery. It can and will manifest in physical illness if disregarded.

The Catalyst to Human Evolution

Most of the time we find ourselves stuck in freeze mode and we are indecisive of which path we want to walk ahead when faced with difficulties. Well, our reptilian brain, part of our triune brain, sends defensive signals to the body which is triggered to take the organism out of the danger. Our brain’s absolute priority is to protect us from anything that will attempt to our life.

The way we evolved into the civilized society we are today was definitely by the adaptation to the environment, the retreat from dangers and the community building and helping each other.

Evidence of the earliest true civilization was a healed femur, a leg bone. Margaret Mead explained that such healings were never found in the remains of competitive, savage societies. There, clues of violence…
