Definition of Loneliness and Causes

Loneliness is a feeling and a thought of lacking a true and real connection. You can feel it while in inauthentic relationships and/or because of lacking the presence of other people.

Perhaps personal issues are preventing you from connecting deeply with others such as lack of empathy, social awkwardness, unworthiness, mistrust, hypersensitivity, self-isolation, self-sabotage, rejection or feeling not heard.

Could be because of logistical issues like moving to another city or country and not knowing people yet or a language barrier that prevents deep communication.

Even if we are historically a social species, at this time in history we are isolated more than ever. 21st Century alienation, Pandemic rolling and our society’s motto “Fake it until you make it” could be triggering reasons for the loneliness we all feel.

I become quite passionate about the subject of Loneliness and how You can overcome it and pursue a sense of happiness since I relocated to two foreign countries and lived alone for about 10 years now.
